Chocolate Masterclasses by Filip Tibos

Our very own Filip Tibos has been sharing his knowledge and passion for chocolate by running Chocolate Masterclasses around the greater Melbourne area. Apromo Trading is proud to support continuing education, be it targeted to chefs from aspiring students to senior professionals, or our customers who appreciate us providing staff training, or to end users who want to deepen their appreciation of the quality products we supply.
Chisholm Dandenong TAFE
On February 9th 2017 Filip conducted a Belcolade master class for senior culinary and patisserie students at the Chisholm Dandenong TAFE.
Topics covered by Filip included:
- Cacao cultivation.
- Production of Belcolade chocolate.
- Why is Belcolade the real Belgium chocolate.
- Apromo Trading’s association with Gault Millau.
- What Apromo can do for your business.
- Vertical tasting.
- Retronasal tasting.
- Tasting of 17 chocolates.
The tasting included chocolates from the Belcolade Origins range and 2 experimental fermented chocolate samples Filip brought back from Vietnam. The topics were well received.
Filip has also presented chocolate masterclasses in late 2016 at Chisholm Dandenong TAFE to the then senior students.
Langfords Patisserie hosted a Masterclass: Around the world with Belcolade – The Real Belgian Chocolate on Monday 6th March 2017, including a tasting and mini demo with the qualified chocolatier and pastry chef Filip Tibos.
Langfords Patisserie hosted this course for their staff and ran a competition among their customers for some lucky people to join free of charge. They also allowed attendees to purchase tickets to participate. The masterclass was held inside Langfords Patisserie at 48 Manchester Road Mooroolbark, Victoria.
Filip aimed his teaching to suit people interested in knowing more about chocolate and where it comes from. He led tasting of different types of chocolate. Around 25 people attended, being a selection of the longest and best customers of Langfords Patisserie, some home based cake decoration businesses, staff and owners. There were many good questions, which meant the class ran overtime into the late evening. The enthusiastic attendees bombarded Filip with questions about Belcolade chocolate and where to buy it.
